SOFIAC was set up by Econoler and Fondaction in 2020 with the support of the Quebec government. With $200M in investment capacity structured by Fondaction and Desjardins, its mission is to support companies in the commercial, industrial and multi-residential sectors by developing and investing in their energy transition and building decarbonation projects.

SOFIAC's innovative approach enables its customers to use a portion of the energy savings generated by the projects implemented to reimburse the full development and implementation costs of their energy transition project. Throughout the process, SOFIAC helps its customers to improve their energy performance and reduce their operating costs, while benefiting from a positive cash flow as soon as the project is implemented.

SOFIAC works with energy service companies across Canada to implement deep renovation projects with significant impacts for its customers through 10- and 15-year contractual agreements.

Profile sought

SOFIAC is looking for Business development representatives with the exciting mission of contributing to the energy transition and decarbonation of companies in Canada. Reporting to the General Manager, your role will include creating and developing quality business relationships with Canadian companies operating in the commercial, industrial and multi-residential sectors.

We're offering you a unique opportunity to interact with key players in Canada's energy efficiency and decarbonation market, and with major energy consumers across Canada.

Duties specific to the position

  • Participate in SOFIAC's growth strategy ;
  • Identify and prospect new customer accounts;
  • Help prospects identify their needs;
  • Develop proposals and negotiate contracts ;
  • Collaborate effectively with SOFIAC's partners;
  • Create and maintain privileged relationships with all parties involved;
  • Work proactively with the entire operational team;
  • Ensure rigorous follow-up of sales.


Job requirements

  • Experience in B2B sales and customer relations and business partners ;
  • Oral and written bilingualism (French and English) ;
  • Ability to work independently ;
  • Ability to travel in Ontario and across Canada (on average, one or two days per week) ;
  • Excellent communication skills, initiative, leadership ;
  • University degree in finance, taxation or comparable experience ;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and business development tools (LinkedIn, etc).
